Apple Cobbler

Ahh.....another fall favorite! It seems like I only think to make this in the fall, when the apples are oh so fresh :) My family loves this recipe, especially my husband.  I think it's perfect served with ice cream and maybe a little caramel drizzled over top.  But my husband is a little odd and puts his in a bowl then pours milk over it?!?! I guess..... whatever floats your boat :)

Ingredients

Crust:
3 C. Flour
1 1/2 C. Crisco
3/4 C. H2O
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Baking Powder

Filling:
15 apples
1 1/2 C. Sugar
1/4 C. Flour
1 tsp. Cinnamon
4 Tbsp. Butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Peel, core, and slice the apples.  Mix the filling ingredients with the apples in a large bowl.  Let those sit.  Mix the crust ingredients together, you can do it by hand or with a mixer.  Split the crust into 2 separate pieces.  Prepare a 9x13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.  Roll out 1 piece of the crust to cover the bottom and sides of the pan.  You will need to use flour so that it doesn't stick to counter and/or rolling pin.  Pour apple mixture over bottom crust.  Roll out the other piece of crust so that it will cover the apples, gently seal the bottom edges to the top crust edges.  You can go ahead and put a slit in the top with a knife.  Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.  Enjoy!  Your house will start to smell delicious in about 30-45 minutes :)
